With reference to your Demand Note for $10,519 in respect of Crown Rent for the above Lot for the period first half year ending 24th June, 1950, I have to advise you that I addressed a letter dated 29th March, 1950, and a further letter on 15th April, 1950, to the Director of Public Works, requesting permission to terminate the lease of the above mentioned lot forthwith.

I understand from the Director of Public Works that the matter has been referred to the Colonial Secretary's Office for decision and pending an official reply from the C.S.0. I would respectfully request you to hold this Demand Note, which I return herewith, in suspense.
